Pat Benatar

On Friday night, a friend and I went to the 2007 Toledo Rib-Off. The Rib-Off is a homage to all things ribs and food-on-a-stick. I don't particularly like ribs, but I do like Pat Benatar, who happened to be the evening's entertainment!

She wasn't the only entertainment though, we had this guy:

Honestly, I think my friend and I have more fun people watching at these events then anything else we could spend our Friday nights doing. And come on, $11 for a concert and 2 beers? Not bad, if I do say so myself!

Love Is A Battlefield

I'm going to see the Gin Blossons tonight in Toledo. Concert for $8, sweet!

ETA: I'm always a little leery of going to concerts for bands I've never seen before. You just never know if the songs you've heard on the radio are their real voices, or whether they are digitized or altered in some way, making them sound completely different. Luckily, I can tell you that the Gin Blossoms sound just as they do on the radio. It was a pretty good concert, you certainly couldn't have had better weather for it!

I went to see RENT last night in Detroit, at the Masonic Temple.


You can tell that back in the day, the building was quite a site to see, it is almost gaudy by today's standards with all the gold-leaf and filigree. These days, everything could definitely use a good painting and polishing.

We have this squirrel, that we like to call Fatty, who lives somewhere around our yard. He's been missing for the last few months; we thought he might have had a run in with a car and lost. Alas, he is back. As you can see, he likes our bird seed. I'm not sure any of the local birds have enjoyed our bird seed because he generally empties the thing before the birds have a chance to show up. See the paint off the roof of the bird house? Yeah, that's from his claws. Greedy fat bastard!

Tickets bought. OMG I'M GOING TO SEE LIVE AGAIN! Woot woot!

So, one of my most favorite bands, LIVE, is going to be in Cleveland, on May 14th, at the House of Blues.

It is a Sunday night, and a 2 hour drive away...but damn I really want to see them again.

Convince me yes or no, people!
